[Things hadn't been easy the past few weeks; there had been ups and downs, much more of the latter than she would ever admit to. And as far as she could tell, it would not get better any time soon. At the very least, the weather was beginning to change even if she couldn't see it for herself. There was just something about the air of spring approaching that always managed to lift her spirits a little, and what better way to greet it than to start working on that neglected garden outside of House 11? Who cares how cold it is out, the plants are of higher priority.

It isn't until after an hour or so of working that her journal falls off her person and sprawls open in the dirt, making her frown upon hearing the familiar noise of it being activated. Taking to people probably wasn't a good idea right now, but she can try.]

… What are your favorite things about spring? Or… things you like the least about it I guess. Anything really.

[Later in the evening the residents of the large household might notice that she's managed to make her way to Silver's room instead of her own, though if anyone drops by the reason should be pretty obvious. You don't go through weeks of emotional whiplash and a day out in the cold dressed improperly without coming out unscathed.]

... I'm pretty sure I'm turning sixteen this year, and that's an adult where I'm from.

I've never liked eating without someone there, it... doesn't feel right. It feels worse than not eating. [Now guess how long she lived alone, Frey.]

Well... I don't know what it's like for you, but I know a lot of people back home without someone they trust there beside them. [Maybe it's a species thing and she's reading too much into this.]

No. I know he knows right from wrong. If I was a terrible Queen I know he would try to make me better, and if he couldn't, he has the ability to bring people's hearts together to stop things like that.

[Hmm... That's a tough one...]

I suppose it depends on the circumstances... Each of them are so very different, aren't they? Personally, I'd try to gain their faith by being myself; faith isn't a simple subject, but as long as you're putting your own trust in someone, over time, they'll often become more capable of returning that faith.

I can't say it's always certain, but I can't think of many things in life that are.

Well, they just don't seem much like the flower sort, I guess. They'll just have to deal with it, though.

I think she would like that. I'll ask her when she's awake. [Too bad in a few day's time Martel will be tragically kidnapped. Welp. Some...day...]

... Once in a while, I've lived on my own for the most part the last few years. [Mostly at her own insistence to not get in anyone's way and try to prove that she can take care of herself just fine.]

I think there's some people who beg to differ otherwise, the old-fashioned types.

Does he? Do the people back in his home really like him that much? [Though she can see why, and it frustrated her all the more because of it.]

... It's okay, you have other things to do, don't you? [It's the same answer she gave to all her caretakers back home, the people who were obligated to check up on her to make sure she was still alive.]

...That's what I don't get about other worlds. That doesn't sound like a big deal on its own. I've been living "on my own" since I was little. [Silver, you're still little.] Traveling around on your own at a young age is totally normal.

That said, it's unheard of to live without any Pokémon. [So while it's not weird to understand that Kaori lived on her own, it's hard to understand that she lived on her own without any sort of dangerous fussy animal companion.]

... But even if you try to put your trust in them first, they always break it anyway. What's the point of even trying over and over again if it always stays the same? [Though that wasn't completely true... She'd put her faith in just a few people here, but that didn't make her any less terrified of being thrown out again.]

Maybe you can try to convince them into trying? It's really relaxing I think, and then it's not as lonely.

[Someday she would get to meet this lovely woman!] It doesn't even matter the time of day, I'll make sure to have my journal with me as much as I can.

No so many things that I do not have time to come here back for lunch with you.

[Really, most of the things he did were of his own choosing, anyway. It wasn't like home.]

Has it truly been that way for you...? Even in a place like this?

I know it seems hopeless at times, but... there are good people here. People who will believe in you first, should you be afraid to have faith in them.

And it's unheard of for anyone to willingly subject themselves to being lonely. I guess I've always been weird that way.
