Falena's original capital was Stormfist, from what I have read, but Sol-Falena was built specifically to become the current capital from the very beginning... over two hundred years ago, I think. I imagine great care was taken to make sure it was secure and difficult to invade.
Any land based invasion must cross the bridge. There is no other way, besides entering by boat.
When we had to retake the city, it was a difficult battle.

But you really wanted to take back your home, didn't you? I think that's why you were able to take it back even if it's supposed to be hard. [And she can't believe that Freyjadour couldn't accomplish anything he really put his mind to, especially when it involved something he loved.]

[It was what had frustrated him most, about his time in Luceti before returning home to finish everything- He had never been able to rescue Lym, to take back their home. Hearing it from people from the future was one thing.
Doing it was another.]

But what happened after?

Putting down her fork, she feels around for Frey's hand until she at last finds it. If there was something he wanted to talk about, it was okay.]

He merely did not wish to. He had always been a private person when it came to these things, and he did not wish to ruin the mood. But Sialeeds... she deserved to be mentioned, in spite of his feelings on it.
History would probably label her a traitor, but when he spoke of these events, at least..... He would remember her.] My Aunt perished in the events leading up to our retaking of the capital. She is the reason we even have the opportunity we do, to make a lasting change in our country.

... You miss her. [It wasn't a question, she could sense what felt like hurt there, or at the very least sadness. Whatever had happened to her, it had to have been a great sacrifice.]

Have you done anything for her?

Really... he shouldn't be ruining a happy occasion like this. But telling her to change the topic now would imply he didn't trust her, wouldn't it?] I cannot. Publicly, she is viewed as a traitor. She could not even be buried in the royal tombs.
The most we can do is use the chance she gave us.
I am sorry... this is not exactly happy conversation, is it?
