[It's been several days since the incident that confined her to the clinic, and frankly Kaori has become very tired of that place. Not only was she bored out of her mind, but merely the smell of it brought up fragmented memories of pain and fear from long ago. On top of that, it was lonely when no one visited. Sorry Vash, but she really can't take it anymore.

Therefore it makes sense that she sneak out, right?! Never mind that she is still badly bruised and sore everywhere due to damaged and sprained muscles, which makes walking very difficult. But what's some injuries to her? At the very least she can talk! Sort of... It takes some effort.

As for the destination she has in mind? Her apartment at the very top of CH4, pretty smart. Of course she probably won't get very far, and may end up resting in the flower shop instead. Feel free to intercept her anywhere along this stupid journey of sheer determination, she may or may not bite. And it may or may not take all day.]

Coming right up! [He'll order the pizza but it will a few minutes before it's ready.]

[And in those few minutes she'll be petting his hair because hair is damn fun to play with and she likes messing with it.]

[Vash will try to make a meek attempt to stop that.] Aw, come on Kaori! You'll mess up my hair!

[But that's the point, and it feels fuzzy in some areas~. She needs to have something to do while waiting for that pizza.]

[Vash puts up a couple more small protests, then gives up and lets you play. Although he's going to sit there with a pout the whole time.]

[At least she's not going crazy with hair accessories and and styling skillz~. He'd have more to complain about if his hair came out purple from this.

[Yes it is! Vash will happily reclaim his hair to go get it and serve it.] There we are! One fresh pizza! Don't burn your mouth.

[Awh, no more hair to play with. But hey, it's food! She's going to happily start eating even though swallowing does still hurt a little, but she still has to eat something.]

[Vash will eat quietly, waiting until you look full.]

I think it's time we head back to the clinic now.

[Are you kidding?! She just spent a whole lot of effort trying to get out of there and trying to seem somewhat decent as she walked around, there is no way she's going back to that horribly sterile place.

TRY IT AND SHE'LL BITE.]

[He sees that look.] Come on Kaori, they just want to make you feel better.

[Shaking her head because she remembers being told that many times before, followed by lots of pain and jeering laughter from the Humans as she cried out for help. She is not going back there to distrustful Humans who probably couldn't help her heal faster anyway.]

Why don't you want to go back? The people there are really nice.

[seiriald]

[How best to sum up experiences that eventually led to her ongoing hatred of Humans with as few words as possible. She's silent for a few moments, not considering that the Humans here have nothing to do with what happened to her back then. Yet.]

... Betrayed.

Betrayed? [He's quiet a moment. Thinking it over with what he knows of the people at the clinic and of you.] But... not here? Right?

Not yet. [Her tone clearly states that she expects it to happen someday.]

Kaori, the people at the clinic are very, very nice. They wouldn't hurt you. They only want to help people. Even friends of mine work there. They wouldn't work there if people were being mean and hurting each other.

I trust them to take care of me when I get hurt.

[seiriald]

[That would be a great argument if it weren't for her own feelings about it getting in the way. Besides, it was one thing for Vash to trust them, and something else for Kaori to get even remotely close to doing so.

Somewhere in the back of her mind, a memory was telling her the same thing, only to experience pain shortly afterward. Helping people, huh? Certainly not her.]

Give them a chance. I promise they won't do anything to hurt you.

A promise...? [She'd been promised the same thing many times before, but coming from Vash it seemed different, even though promises are sacred where she's from.]

Promise. And one of the doctors there is a reindeer.

A reindeer? [That manages to distract her enough for the time being, because a reindeer? How does that work?]
