[Kaori's been thinking a lot since her last talk with Elicia, mulling over what she said, what she was forced to share. A part of her wanted wanted to believe the little girl, that the 'bad people' wouldn't hurt her here in Luceti, but as always it was hard to push aside what she saw as justified hatred in favor of that lost affection.

So today, she wanted to try a little test, just to see how the villagers responded. After all, they were 'good people,' and wanted to be her 'friends,' right? Maybe she could gather some useful information in the meantime.]

... It's always wonderful to be able to express yourself. [Something she feels she isn't able to do freely anywhere she's gone.] Is it frowned upon where you're from?

It really is. [ She sounds wistful. ] No, but it's good to know self-restraint. Being too expressive can be as bad as not being expressive at all.

[Kaori takes note of that wistfulness, but decides not to pull it further for now. Maybe later in the conversation if Sylvia didn't mind.] Especially when it gets you in trouble or causes damage, right?

Better... do you express yourself with words and emotions, or through a hobby of sorts?

I'm not as good with those as I'd like. . . . I speak through my actions. So a hobby, I suppose.

Fencing, mostly.

It's a combat sport. I spend most of my time training.

Wow... Do you have someone to practice with, or do you go to one of the training facilities?

Both. Not everyone's up for sparring all the time, but it's good to have a live opponent now and then. The same goes for individual training.

And how long have you been studying fencing? I hear it takes a lot of practice!

For several years now. I've gotten plenty of practice, but there's always room for improvement.

That's true with any hobby. DO you have any others?

Not quite. There's not much else I'm as interested in. [ If there is anything. ]

Not as much as fencing, for the most part. . . . You can have a lot of hobbies, but there's always the one that means the most.

That's true, I like gardening, personally. [Mostly because she doesn't need many visuals for it.]

Gardening's nice. [ Well, it makes the gardens look pretty and healthy. ]

Yes! I try to help out in the flower shop with one of my friends as much as I can, it's my most favorite place in the village.

That's a good a way of keeping yourself occupied. You must enjoy helping out.
