H-hey, don't go falling! [Hello, Luceti, it seems that one of the journals out there has decided to turn on the video feature to show you one lovely ceiling, with rather creepy shallow breathing heard in the background. Before long a frazzled Kaori pops into the picture from the edge of what must be a bed, clearly still half-asleep since her eyes are closed, but... There's a distinct redness to her normally pale complexion, if you catch sight of her reaching around for the fallen book while her cracked voice mutters the occasional word.

... Actually, she's reaching out a little too far from the bed...

Damn it, where did you – Agh?! [And down she goes toppling in a tangled mess of blankets to the floor, because depth perception sucks when you're feeling so damn sick, right? Someone save her from the blanket monster!] Ow!

Nice to meet you, Spada-kun.

[He says this simply, relaxing his face on the other end to a more guarded but neutral position. He also shifts because it seems this conversation will be longer than he expected]

You are mistaken, Spada. We're friends, not..... [Blushing. Ok, maybe he's not as over valentine's as he thought.] ...In a relationship.

[He's also a little concerned about why Kaori is living with a man. It makes no sense to him.] But it is a pleasure to meet another friend of Kaori's.

[... What is this tension, she will not have it around Spada. Once she turns the journal around properly with an embarrassed blush she'll speak again, her voice still strained from the coughing fit.]

Yeah, Spada and I have been living together almost as long as I've been here. He's helped a lot since then. [Meet yet another one of the knights she's gathered here.]

[ He's still not buying Frey's protests at all, man. ]

So there's another reason you're cuddlin' up with her on her bed? [ This is him indirectly still trying to figure out what exactly is going on here. ]

[Cuddling in her bed... and they called him. They couldn't possibly-? It's possible, isn't it, but why involve him? And Kaori said she needed him so. He brain works into overdrive, considering the possibilities here but coming up with nil. For now, without no good avenue to get Spada here (which is something unexpected) out of the picture, Masaomi just falls silent on the other end for now, folding his hands under his chin as he looks down at his own journal.]

W-We're not! I was just trying to help her stop coughing. [Blushing profusely and feeling like he should just... disappear. This really did look awkward after their conversation.]

[Which they still need to figure out because despite these lovely distractions, that urge to punish herself is still there.]

Remember the feather, Masaomi...? Frey needs some help. [Maybe she should ask Spada too...]

[ ... Right, he's just going to sit this one out. Kind of. He's not keen on leaving the room because Kaori's clearly deathly ill and the guy she's with seems to believe that some cuddling fixes coughing, but he's also not really sure if he should even ask. Feathers, now?

Instead he will be leaning back against the wall next to the bed, casually listening in don't mind him. ]

[...Well that figures. Masaomi still can't see the room well from this angle (nor does he have a complete audio picture) and it is very frustrating to him. But he knows Spada might (in fact probably didn't) leave, so his frowns deepens before-]

Ah. So you need my help, Frey?

[Frey, you can spill if you want. Masaomi didn't want to have to address this. Particularly with extras]

[Wait- Kida knew?! He'll give Kaori a questioning look, then sigh a bit as he realizes she can't see it. Damn. He'll try to be vague with this, not wanting yet another person in on this.] I didn't realize you were... privy to this before I was. But yes, we're trying to figure out a promise of similar value to make instead.

[Whether you all want another person to know or not, Spada is going to find out about this eventually. In her mind he has more of a right to know about this than Masaomi did, considering that they live together so her business is likely to mix with his.]

Masaomi was the one who told me to wait until after the draft to tell you about it, when you and I spoke after the experiment... [When he managed to catch her in this apartment alone, by the way.]

[ Spada himself doesn't feel especially entitled to know anything, but he has a bad tendency to be nosy and she is his roommate. It'd be nice to have at least some manner of background on it. Whether they like or not, he's staying put, trying to piece together the conversation. ]

Oh, so that's how it is. [Dammit Kaori don't spoil. Masaomi sighs here. How o diffuse this a bit...]

[The grin that spreads on his lips is so grinning and flippant you wouldn't even believe it]

I really don't know how that would work, but that would be a bit dishonest, wouldn't it? [Slightly irked.]

.... Hau? [You don't really want to marry her, do you Masaomi? There are better girls in the village to marry even if she would yan about it.]

I-I can't do that! I'd have to give you one of your own! And then... you get to fight about it or something...

[ Awkward question is go. ]

What's so special 'bout a feather anyway?

[ALARM BELLS. No okay, more like he's going to deliberately ignore Spada in lieu of pressing on. And to do that...]

Oh?! A fight for Kaori-chan, passions blaring, maybe?! You want me to have a feather that much, do you?!

[And he even laughs here]

Aaaah~ I can picture it now!!

W-what? But I'm not-!

If you two wanted to date I'd be ok with that! [Babbling now. Damn it Kida this is a horrible time for your antics.]

... Do you want me to? [Frey, you're handing her over to another man. While she's still engaged to you. Your wish is her command, little prince.

But damn that hurts.]

[ — He thinks he's getting the gist of the whole feather thing! He's not got the whole engagement thing out of it yet, but he's getting closer, and since asking is clearly fruitless (something he would be annoyed about if he wasn't so damn confused) he'll just resign himself back to listening. ]

[...Frey you so silly. Masaomi sighs just a little and shrugs]

Mmm~ even if he did, Kaori-chan, I'm not sure I'd accept just like that- after all! I need to worm my way into filling up your heart first, don't I? And I'm not all the way there juuuust yet!

[He laughs]

Actually, I meant that I might accept that feather from the beautiful Freyja-chan, perhaps?!

[Yes, he went there]

[Kida you Asshole. He raises his voice a bit.] She has nothing to do with this! Just drop it, it's past!

[Calming and turning to Kaori. because her comment was odd.] I-If you wanted to? It’s not like I have any say in who you date. We’re not really… you know. I think of you like ….well, like a sister.

[She reminds him of Lym at times. It‘s heartwarming.] Though saying that, I don’t think I’d want any sister of mine dating you, Kida.

Actually... you do. [You own her now, Frey. Where is that solution they're supposed to be coming up with, she can't hold back that urge forever.]

[ Ping! He might be underestimating the importance of the feather, but it sounds like him and Kaori need to have a talk about these traditions. He also might be glaring a little at Frey, despite him insisting it's not his place to decide. Great first impressions abound. ]
