✿ Seventh Bud [action]

[It's the first time Kaori has come out in the village on her own since the incident with Shizuo, where she'd come out completely soaked and with a cold to accompany the illness she already had. While she may be recovered now, the somber expression on her face as she makes her way to the plaza says something else. It didn't matter that it was the dead of night and hardly anyone was out, she didn't want to go back to sleep.

One nightmare of her past was enough to deal with.

The memory of the pain and fear, the desperation she felt was still vivid to her, and made her want to seek out a certain man... An ally who would understand what it felt like to despise Humans so. But... she hadn't heard from him for so long, it made her worried. Had something happened? It's what's leading her to take a seat in the plaza, journal clutched tightly in her hands as she shivers in her pajamas, allowing the chill of night to wake her further. This was the spot where she met him face-to-face... Maybe he would show up again if she waited long enough. Maybe. Or had Humans taken him away, too...? It almost makes her want to cry...]

[After having a rather disturbing nightmare himself, Frey had decided to bundle up and head out to clear his head. He didn't want to fall back asleep and see Lym's tears, Lyon bleeding in his arms after-

Yes, he'd rather stay awake until morning, and he's decided that's what he'll do. He's surprised, though, to see he's not the only one out this late.] Kaori....?

[You wanted a human hater? Well, here you go...

Yuber happens to be out this night, since he much prefers to be in the village itself at night when there were less humans.

And he does recognize Kaori, he'd spoken to her when he was stuck in Vash's body that one time and she had seemed interesting and he had wanted to see if that was really her, or something induced by that experiment.

So for now, he's watching the girl from a nearby rooftop. Chances are though, Kaori will be able to tell she is being watched and may well feel a nearby inhuman presence.]

[Kaori only barely hears Frey's voice, turning her head in the direction it had come from. She would be surprised if she weren't trying so hard to feel for the Plant's presence within the barrier. Even though they'd only met once, his was very distinctive and horribly familiar.

It doesn't help that her mind is also replaying the images of her dream for her, making her grab her right wrist subconsciously. Like she could still feel the tubes sucking out her sachi and blood, replacing it with something else that made her burn from the inside.]

[Marcell has ninja'ed out of his room again, not really being able to sleep well tonight. Sorry about that Zan'nen. He's just going to...chill somewhere for a while, until he feels tired enough to head back. That's how it usually goes, anyway.

He probably hasn't really noticed Kaori in the plaza yet.]

[It's rather easy to pick up another presence nearby, especially with so few people wandering the village at night. It's all the more noticeable when it's not Human. Her head turns toward his direction, clearly stating that she knows he's there, but as Kaori has never met him in person there is no way she can know it's Yuber watching her.

At least she had non-Human company, far better than the other people of the village at this moment.]

[Frey will walk over, sitting down next to her with a worried look. She's out in just her pajamas.... Isn't she cold?] You ok?

[And he's somewhat impressed she picked him up so easily since most of the idiot humans in the village don't notice him lurking on rooftops so much.

So he'll go ahead and teleport closer to her location for now. Close enough that most of the humans would run once they saw black clothes and long blonde hair that were very distinctive features of the most dangerous creature in this place.]

[The time of day didn't matter very much to someone like Cheyenne, who rather preferred it when the streets were emptier than usual. And so long as she had a coat, the temperature drop only reminded her of winter. But she knows well enough that most people stay indoors when night falls. Seeing Kaori sitting by herself in the plaza is a bit of a surprise.]

[But even more suprising are the emotions she's giving off. Above all else, the residual fear from her dream stands out like a beacon of light in Cheyenne's field of vision. They may not be close per se, but seeing as Kaori is one of the few others capable of sensing souls, Cheyenne feels compelled to approach her.]

[And she'll be doing her best to ignore how delicious that fear looks right now.]

How strange. You never struck me as the sort to prefer the chill of night over the warmth of day, Kaori.

[Marcell may have not noticed, but Kaori certainly has. It makes her head turn sharply in his direction, brow furrowing in disapproval. Surely Zan'nen wouldn't have allowed him out on his own so late at night? Then again, he was a Human...]

[Were she not so frightened by her nightmare Kaori would not have been bothered as much by the lack of emotions that was Cheyenne, maybe a little uncomfortable. But that nightmare clearly reminded her of how the Humans who had hurt her had tried to make her the same way, to be incapable of feeling anything but loyalty to them. So she may notice another spike of fear from her as she glances toward where she assumed Cheyenne's face was, eyes very wide.]

I-I... I guess, huh...?

[Shaking her head in an automatic response, still barely hearing Frey. Human.... he was another Human, wasn't he? Someone who had hurt her and her real big brother until they were scarred and unable to feel pain anymore. But he was her big brother, too, right? He'd promised, right?

All the while she's leaning into him, still clutching the journal tightly. She didn't even take the time to put on shoes when she ran out.]

[She senses that spike, but she can't be sure as to why it's there. Given Kaori's reaction, Cheyenne just assumes it's a normal reaction to seeing her. She's far more used to that, after all.]

My apologies, I did not intend to startle you. [Head-tilt.] Are you all right?

[Frey notices that, too, and is already shrugging off his jacket to wrap around her.] here. Don't want you getting sick again, right?

[Still worried, though. He'll wait until she speaks up.]

[Nah, Marcell just has a bad habit of sneaking out when he doesn't feel comfortable. He still doesn't trust Zan'nen enough to want to really share any of his problems with him. He's noticed Kaori, though.]

-- Hey.

[Or did he? Even though she can sense the sincerity of his words and worry, that is still her mind's automatic response. It almost makes her feel guilty for assuming it, but not quite; the terror from her nightmare was still rather fresh.]

... Freyjadour? [What was he doing out here anyway?]

[Fortunately for Yuber, Kaori can't recognize him by appearance, nor would it really matter. They had spoken before anyone had the chance to warn her about him, and she'd decided then that this was a being she would like to associate with. Right now it's simply a matter of realizing this is him.]

... Is this what you usually do at night?

Listening to the screams of a human dying would be more enjoyable.

[There's something she can agree with.] I admit, it would be wonderful to hear that now. It'll scare the others, too...

[You can add Dhaos to the list of people randomly awake tonight, standing on some rooftop stargazing. While their locations in the sky have changed, the positions of the stars in relation to each other remain constant between most worlds. He's trying to find his home planet among them, even though he knows that will probably end up making him feel homesick and guilty about never having come back after vowing to save it.

Welp, have another person irritated with humans to play with. He may be rather less enthusiastic about it than most other human-haters, though. And, uh, you have to get his attention first...]

It doesn't scare them. They are too pathetic to even know fear it seems. [Not that he minds. The more he attacks them, the more that come and attack him and he can also kill.]

Yes, Kaori? [he's content to sit here, really. As for why he's up, well, it's not like he's going back to sleep.]

I s'pose that's true as well. [How to know if this was who she thought it was for sure? She'd heard his voice when Vash was stuck in his body, and as far as she knew there were no experiments going on...]

... I haven't heard of any Human killings within the village lately. It's a shame.

Hey... [She tries to smile, but it's rather strained; she's never been a good liar even with her facial expressions.] What are you doing out here this late?

It's okay. [It's making her feel bad now that she's noticed how she reacted to her approach. Even if a lack of emotions terrifies her, that was no excuse for it.]

Just trying to calm down, I think...

Yeah, of course not, he got his share of killing during the draft, but then he'll be needing some bloodshed soon.] If I feel like dealing with the tedium of them I could always broadcast one over the journals again. Far better than being recorded as a particular idiot at least.
