[It's the first time Kaori has come out in the village on her own since the incident with Shizuo, where she'd come out completely soaked and with a cold to accompany the illness she already had. While she may be recovered now, the somber expression on her face as she makes her way to the plaza says something else. It didn't matter that it was the dead of night and hardly anyone was out, she didn't want to go back to sleep.

One nightmare of her past was enough to deal with.

The memory of the pain and fear, the desperation she felt was still vivid to her, and made her want to seek out a certain man... An ally who would understand what it felt like to despise Humans so. But... she hadn't heard from him for so long, it made her worried. Had something happened? It's what's leading her to take a seat in the plaza, journal clutched tightly in her hands as she shivers in her pajamas, allowing the chill of night to wake her further. This was the spot where she met him face-to-face... Maybe he would show up again if she waited long enough. Maybe. Or had Humans taken him away, too...? It almost makes her want to cry...]

[Frey notices that, too, and is already shrugging off his jacket to wrap around her.] here. Don't want you getting sick again, right?

[Still worried, though. He'll wait until she speaks up.]

[Or did he? Even though she can sense the sincerity of his words and worry, that is still her mind's automatic response. It almost makes her feel guilty for assuming it, but not quite; the terror from her nightmare was still rather fresh.]

... Freyjadour? [What was he doing out here anyway?]

Yes, Kaori? [he's content to sit here, really. As for why he's up, well, it's not like he's going back to sleep.]

[Well you now have one! little sister leaning closer and cuddling into you, trying to get rid of the nightmare and just craving some comfort.] ... Do you have nightmares...?

[He'll wrap an arm around her willingly, it'll keep her warmer, too. A slight pause at the question. Was that why she was out here, then?] .....I do. I usually don't sleep afterwards.

[A round about way of admitting he's having a similar problem, really. He doesn't want to bother her with his issues.]

... So did you have one tonight, too? [He seemed unsettled, at least. It made her wonder what his was about. And why else would he be out here, he didn't seem like an evening person.]

[A wince...... There's a long pause, and it might seem like he's not going to speak up... but she's family now, isn't she?] It was about the war I was... involved in before I came to Luceti. Many people I care for got hurt. I dreamt of one such incident.

A war...? [The only war she's really worried about is the one against her kind. Though genocide would be a more appropriate term for it, since they so rarely made an offensive move or even defended themselves.] ... did they die?

....Not L- this person. She managed to survive by a miracle. [She would have died because of him... if the rune hadn't reacted. He was completely useless then.] It was my fault.

That's good... that she's okay... [Talk about guilt, Frey. It's almost overwhelming, but instead of pulling away she snuggles closer.]

... My last mother and previous father died because of me...

Four of five of them, to be honest. I don't know how exactly my birth parents died, though.

Five.......? [a stock of sadness for her. He knows what it's like to lose parents... but 5 of them? That's.....]

I've had five parents...? [Really, she thinks she's lucky she managed to find five people who are willing to take care of her as their daughter.]

But most of my siblings don't even remember their birth parents...

So they adopted you all?

All...? [All she had was – ... oh... He must have assumed...?] I only have one biological brother, the rest of my siblings are through our current guardian...
