✿ Thirteenth Bud [action/backdated to the 5th]
[It's been some time since everyone returned from the battle, only to find out that the village had been damaged greatly once they were back. Kaori hadn't been able to tell right away until she began to feel unexpectedly tired, and no matter where she went it felt wet. It was only then that she realized the extent of the storm people had talked about.
It meant that there was a lot of damage control to be done, but she's not thinking buildings. What mattered to her was what the plants and flower beds throughout the village had suffered. Thanks to the efforts of her housemates her own garden had been mostly unscathed, but that didn't stop her from mourning what had been died. So she'd finally had enough of seeing them that way. Today was going to be dedicated to replanting what seedlings she'd found in the flower shop and sowing new seeds throughout the village. It didn't matter where, she just didn't want for there to be a lack of one of the few things that made this place remotely like home.
Eventually she does address the village at large, though her voice is rather solemn.]
I know that there's supposed to be a Memory Garden for the village... Can someone tell me what's going on with it? I'd kind of like to plant something there if it's okay to.
[Daisies. She'd already given them their place in House 11's garden, but with the memory of the person they were dedicated to, Kaori felt it best to scatter them as far as she could. Selphie had always seemed like such a free spirit, after all.]

He only pulls back when she does, taking a moment to take her in.]
Thank you. [He takes a step backwards to gently lead her through the door, making sure it shuts behind them.] It means a lot...just to know I have you.
[action]
No one else is here, right? Just us?
[action]
[He lets go of her, only to take her hand and begin leading her to the couch.]
[action]
Is there... something you want to do? Or do you just want to stay together? [It was all okay with her, if she got to spend time with him.]
[action]

[action]
[action]
If you could lay down in my lap? I think it'd be easier for both of us then. [Since accidentally poking him in the eye was not something she wanted to risk.]
[action]
[action]
Not that she minded it at all, the feel of Mithos' hair between her fingers was a welcome sensation, and for whatever reason gave her a piece of mind that she hadn't had in quite some time. It made her wonder why this was so different this time as well.]
[action]
He almost shivers when her fingertips lightly brush past the shell of his ear.]
[action]
Were his ears honestly pointy...?]
[action]
...It's because of my elven blood.
[action]
Mine used to be like that too, when I was little...
[action]
[action]
[She could remember her mother telling her to be careful about showing them, at least. Though now that she knows Mithos has them as well, a tiny part of her wishes hers had never fully rounded out.]
[action]
[action]
Not really, they looked for other more certain signs than just our ears...
[action]
Martel and I were often forced out of villages when it was discovered that we could wield magic. We were using our magic to try to help people, but it didn't matter because we were half-elves.
[action]
If she didn't remember that she still held Mithos' hair in her hand, it would have been clenched so tightly that nails would have dug into her skin. Instead she takes in a deep breath and resumes stroking it, trying to relieve them both of those hated memories.]
[action]
It still hurts. He can't possibly push back every memory he has of Martel, and just thinking about her is enough to re-open the wounds that would never seal shut. But it hurts a little less with his head cradled in Kaori's lap and her fingers stroking reassurances against him.]
