I just haven't...

[...he sees that stare. .....This is apparently a big deal to her. He quickly thinks of something, whatever comes to mind first:] Fandalia flowers.

Fandalia flowers...? [Her expression turns into wonder, trying to imagine what kind of flower it could be.]

I've never seen one of those!

They're from my world. The petals are white and its nectar has healing properties.

Really? That sounds neat! [Thinking about it makes her want to see one for herself.]

Really. The fandalias once saved my sister when she was very sick.

[Now her eyes really widen, prompting her to scoot closer to Mithos in that way all small children do when they are excited about something.] Then it must be very special, na?

Mm-hmm... [...and now he's thinking about Martel again. More than he already was.]

... Can you show me? [Though she notes how he suddenly seems distracted, more than he has been anyway.]

Oh, I...haven't seen any in Luceti. [not like he frequents the flower shop either]

O-oh... [Cue a sad face, what are you going to do about it, Mithos?]

[....d-don't make that face.] ......But...that doesn't mean they aren't here. Maybe I haven't looked hard enough.

[... Mithos what have you done.]

Oh! Then we have to go looking for them, we can do it together, right?!

[...He has no idea.] Sure, we... [--wait a minute] Do you mean right now?

Duh! When else? [So she springs up to her feet and swings her arms in excitement; she hasn't had an opportunity to explore much with Frey always hovering over her.]

C'mon, let's go!

[Climbing to his feet - quickly, because he doesn't want her to run off without him.] All right...

Where should we look first?

Have you looked in the flower shop before? [It made sense to look there first, right?]

[He shakes his head and offers a smile (still so, so tentative).] Let's go take a look.

[Starting to lead the way -- then he remembers to offer his hand to her.]

[And she takes his hand cheerfully, humming just a little as she allows herself to be lead on the beginning of their quest, completely and utterly trusting him.]

[Alright, walking, walking...

Wondering what sorts of things he should say to her. His experience with children is very, very limited. To the point of non-existence, actually.]

[Luckily for him Kaori seems to be doing fine going about in silence, still humming and looking about at their surroundings. Luceti was so different from the last time she had been here, in November.]

...You like music, Kaori? [you've been humming an awful lot. and there was the very first time they ever met...]

Yeah! [Her face brightens up considerably, thinking about how much she loves it.] I really, really like singing, my mommy and brother do, too! Mommy told me once that you can tell what someone's like because of music!

Really? [even though he knew that - he still remembers the first words she spoke to him.]

Uh-huh! Sometimes, I can hear when the hearts of other people or flowers are singing. Mommy says I might be able to hear them better when I'm older.

[He half wonders what kind of awful song his own heart is making right now.] I see...

It sounds like you love your mother and brother a lot too.
