....You don't have to, but if you want to you can. [He didn't really expect anything of her in response to this, but he wouldn't say she couldn't if she truly wanted to.]

'Kay! [She'll make it her personal project now, and even though her lack of sight will undoubtedly hinder what she can do, she does have determination.]

Actually, if it's March... isn't it almost going to be another year since you've been here?

It will be next month, yes.

[Two years here.... It was hard to imagine, he had been here longer then the entirety of the war that had only just ended.

A lot of time had passed, for him... for everyone.

Except in all that time.. there was something he felt was missing.... What was.....]

Did I somehow miss your birthday, Kaori?

My birthday? [There's definitely surprise in her voice, mostly because her own birthday just hadn't seemed to be very special after so many years of being unable to celebrate, as far as she knew. It didn't mean that she didn't realize their importance, she just couldn't see why hers mattered.]

I don't think so... It's in June? [Except she couldn't really remember last June, courtesy of the Malnosso.]

June....? Do you know what day?

[That was only three months from now....It gave him enough time to plan something.]

It's the ninth... My brother was born almost the end of the eighth, so I was born on the ninth. [She had already been taken by that time last year, and the injuries she had sustained from the draft in the jungle had made it so that her birthday was the last thing on her mind.]

I'll be sixteen? Huh...

[falenandawn]

....sixteen? That is quite the important age.

[huh.... yes, he could do something with this.]

Is it? I thought fifteen was more important. [Because that was the age when you had to marry and start a family, wasn't it?]

[falenandawn]

Oh? Is it?

In my country it is 16.

[seiriald]

... But that seems kind of old? [She doesn't feel it's appropriate to say that most people don't live past twenty right now, there wasn't any need to bring down their spirits with that knowledge today.]

[falenandawn]

Well, I guess it is only a years difference....

[seiriald]

Maybe... [And as she continues to chew on her slice thoughtfully, there's the vague sense of wonder... Would now be a good time to try to get him know better? It would fit the occasion wouldn't it?]

Say, Freyjadour? Could you... tell me a little bit more? About your home? [Things she didn't overhear the times she had woken up to him having nightmares, beyond what he had shared about the war that took place in his home.]

.....About Falena? Of course. You only need ask, you know. [Honestly... he took great pride in his home. He didn't mind at all, talking of it. Not so much of the things he did during the war, but he was willing to share those with her too, if she truly wanted those stories.]

What do you want to know?

Anything at all, really! [The chances of her ever visiting Frey's world were slim, and she's fully aware of this even though she would like to one day. Just to see what kind of world had allowed for such a kind Human to exist, and most of all survive.]

Like your favorite thing about it? What it looked like, if it had lots of trees and stuff...

[falenandawn]

A favorite thing....? I have lots of those. [He pauses, taking a bite of cake as he thinks.]

I guess... I do miss the sight of Sol-Falena. And the way the sun looks when it sets over the Feitas. It looks endless when it reflects off the water.

The Feitas? Is that the name of an ocean there? [With the way he said it, that was what it had sounded like. She'd never known large bodies of water, but she does remember the sight of sun on raindrops as a storm faded away.]

[falenandawn]

A river, actually. It flows throughout all of Falena.... There are few places in the country you will ever be far from it.

My hometown, Sol-Falena, is set upon a lake that is fed by it.

[seiriald]

You live on a lake? [That sounds... very amazing but at the same time uncomfortable, though it was probably her natural type making her feel uneasy about being around a substance that makes her feel so tired in the long run.]

How do you get around there?

It is connected to the outer shore by bridges, actually. There is a large dam, and a port for boats if you choose to travel that way.

But why in the middle of a lake? Unless it's for strategic protection purposes?

[falenandawn]

[His eyes widen a bit, and he smiles. She was smart to figure it out so easily.] You are right. It is exactly that.

Falena's original capital was Stormfist, from what I have read, but Sol-Falena was built specifically to become the current capital from the very beginning... over two hundred years ago, I think. I imagine great care was taken to make sure it was secure and difficult to invade.

Any land based invasion must cross the bridge. There is no other way, besides entering by boat.

When we had to retake the city, it was a difficult battle.

[Sadly, she learned how to best use geography to her advantage throughout her time in Anatolia, and it was the specialty of one of her adopted sisters. She had managed to teach her a little more.]

But you really wanted to take back your home, didn't you? I think that's why you were able to take it back even if it's supposed to be hard. [And she can't believe that Freyjadour couldn't accomplish anything he really put his mind to, especially when it involved something he loved.]

[falenandawn]

....I did. Very much so. Everyone did.

[It was what had frustrated him most, about his time in Luceti before returning home to finish everything- He had never been able to rescue Lym, to take back their home. Hearing it from people from the future was one thing.

Doing it was another.]

... I'm glad you got to reach your goal, Freyjadour. [And to hear that there were people willing to help him with that was indeed heartening, and it made her wish that it happened more often in the worlds she had visited. All those different peoples working together must be something else.]

But what happened after?

Ah....well....We marched towards the capital.... and.... [There's a bit of hesitance of his tone as he speaks.... as if he's considering leaving something out. He didn't want to ruin this happy moment for her with the things that had happened.]
